Attention parents, teachers and more: join us on October 29 for an interactive discussion on parenting and communicating with teens. Hosted in partnership by SASF's SPARK Program and Stanford CHIPAO

The internationally acclaimed Stanford CHIPAO (Communication Health Interactives for Parents of Adolescents and Others) created and led by Dr. Rona Hu, MD, Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University comes to Sacramento. Dr. Hu was also an advisor, writer and actor for "The Manic Monologues," nominated for Best Digital Theater in 2021 by the national Drama League, so expect a moving and entertaining yet educational time.

Dr. Hu and her colleagues will perform vignettes of parent-child interaction during the challenging teen years. Vignette topics include Pride, Anti Racism 101, You Should Have Studied, Bad at Math, Parents are so Embarrassing, and What's Wrong with You. "Actors" are mental health professionals and allies, and a moderator will facilitate discussion, between the audience and CHIPAO cast and crew. The discussion will include recognizing the signs of anxiety, depression and suicidal behavior and the effects of drugs on mental health.

This event is just for parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and other adults (family and relatives), no teens/children. Register here. We will send reminders so check your spam folder. Registered attendees will be eligible for great prizes in our electronic raffle. And join us for a light lunch. See you there!
