Friends of SASF: Join The Creative Space at the California Museum for AAPI Night!

The Creative Space is collaborating with the California Museum for a three-part summer series of pop-up events! It'll be on the third Thursday of each month from 4-8PM, starting on July 21st at the California Museum (1020 O Street, Sacramento, CA 95814).

To kickoff the series, the first event will highlight the roles of AAPI communities in California's history through the AAPI food vendors and makers, and the museum's exhibits. "Uprooted" features artifacts from the Japanese Internment camps, and "Gold Mountain: Chinese California Stories" features Chinese immigrants impact on the California's history. Enjoy a night of shopping from some great vendors, guided tours, and so much more!

Tickets for the event will include access to the museum and all of the vendors, at a discounted rate of $5! Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite

Masks are required for indoor entry and carpooling is strongly recommended!

Correction: Big Day of Giving 2022

Correction: In the June newsletter we reported that donations surpassed last year's amount. This was an error for which we apologize. Actually, donations dropped this year compared to 2021. Regardless, we are very happy for your support.

Donations

We are extremely grateful to the many individuals, families and businesses who continue to support and donate to the SASF throughout the year. Without your unwavering support, SASF would have had a difficult time surviving the challenges of the past year. Thank you for the following donations received this past month:

  • Martha and Bruce Kushida
  • Anonymous PG&E employee donations
  • Randy Uda via Blackbaud
  • Ronny Okimura
  • Bob & JoAnn Fujita
  • Kimberly Dong via Truist Frontstream
  • Douglas and Betty Yamamoto
  • Margaret Ching via United Way
  • Alyssa Chow
  • Eric Wong
  • Norman Nishio, in memory of Mike and Stanley Nishio
  • Gerald and Diane Muranaka, in memory of Tsugio Tomono

SASF relies on the generous donations from community members to fund the day-to-day operations of the facility, and the support the sports and youth programs.
