Ted Fong to lead SASF's Strive for Strength

We are pleased to announce that Ted Fong will become Program Director for SASF. Ted will expand SASF’s Strive for Strength program to include year-round training in Financial Literacy, Mental Health and Wellness, Career Development, and Essential Life Skills for teens and young adults up to age 30.

Over the summer, Ted conducted a series of focus groups to determine the needs of young people as they transition into adulthood. The majority of participants felt that young people are growing up in a world that is much more challenging than what their parents experienced. Anxiety, depression, economic pressure, and social media are just a few of the contributing factors. To download Ted's focus group findings, go to tinyurl.com/strive250.

Under Ted's direction, Strive for Strength will organize peer groups to address these issues and prepare participants for college, career, personal relationships, and living independently. Enrollment will open in mid-November. The program will begin in January 2025. To get on the Strive for Strength interest list, go to https://tinyurl.com/strive100. You may contact Ted directly at theofong@yahoo.com.

Ted Fong was the Director of Fund Development for ACC Senior Services. Before this, he held senior management positions at several healthcare and technology companies. Ted has a B.S. degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from UCLA. He and his wife Marielle have five children and live in Elk Grove.

My background in real estate, project management, and my work at Yee Law Group can add value to the Board's efforts. "I grew up in this program, first in summer basketball league and giving back as a basketball coach and referee. This organization does so much for the communities of Sacramento and Elk Grove. Their dedication to youth development through sports and leadership programs include teen women empowerment, a talent show completely organized by youth, and basketball, ages 7-18. They have added new programs to address teen mental health, and sports programs and a fishing derby for special needs youth. Pickleball for Seniors continues to grow by leaps and bounds. An anticipated program with SMUD includes classes on the use of modern and efficient kitchen equipment."

"Join me and my friends who participated in SASF programs and are now giving back in different ways. Donate via the PG&E YourCause website using the Guest option."
